21. The sound

The sound for our opening title was going to be a mixture of soundtrack and voice-over narration. It starts with narration in the playground scenes and then cuts to a motownish/funky track when you see the male actor much older and when he's walking down the road. It then cuts out straight away when he falls over onto the zebra crossing and then when walking into his office calm music is playing to set the location of an office job and then it fades once he recieves the invitation from his secretary and dialogue takes place between the secretary and Gordon Twiginam.

17. key elements

The key elements that have to appear in our film are:

  • The main title of the film is one of the very first things that have to appear in the first seconds of the film
  • giving the audience a slight hint about what the movie is about however as little as possible information should be shared to keep the audience wanting to see more, so not too much should be happening in the first few minutes.
  • the production name
  • a clear introduction of the main characters
  • Simple but catchy background music to maintain a nice flow
  • voice over by the main character to set the scene and tell us about what is going on.

19. Investigate narative theories

18. A brief sypnosis of the whole film:

  • The film starts with a young man narrating over the top of the opening titles and he gives you background information into his life before he became older and how he got bullied in primary school and wasn't very popular

  • It then goes into the present day and shows him being quite successful and how he's changed a little bit (still silly and dorky however) and is working for a big company and his life is great. He then gets an invitation to a High School Reunion when he goes into work one day and his past comes back to haunt him.

  • He decides to go to the school reunion with encouragement from his parents when he goes to visit them one afternoon. It's a whole weekend exertion and he packs up his bags.

  • He arrives and the first people he meets once at the hotel is his old bullies who haven't changed a bit! They trip him up straight away and start taking the mick out of him.

  • The film then goes onto show the whole weekend and how the young man gets himself into a lot of embarassing situations when trying to be popular and he meets his old girl crush again and embarasses himself then also. But then in the end it all works out and the young man finds his girl crush and the big manly group stop bullying him..well for now!

15. How 'pearl and Dean ' categorises their Audience

Pearl & Dean is primarily known as a British cinema advertising company. It was founded in 1953 by brothers Ernie and Charles Pearl, and Bob Dean.

The picture above shows us how they categorise their audience

First of all The age of people interested in Arthouse and GAP as you can see in the table people most interested are people 35+ as it says 48% of poeple seem to be interested the same is for gap the majority of poeople interested are people a5 years and older.

Secondly the categorisation of class but as you can see on the graph ABC1 gets most of the majority of atention for both Arthouse and Gap.

Lastly its gender this is the most balanced out of all categories as both males and females prefer 50/50 of both arthouse and GAP.

14. My pefect Audience Member

Townies

Townies are relatively diverse in entertainment choices but unsurprisingly stick to mainstream options. As you can see on the picture above the nrands townies usually go for are Nike, Topshop, Adiddas, Uggs, Ted baker, River island, etc. These brands are the brands worn by nearly all of British teenage population this means that townies seem to be the kind of poeple that follow the crowds and do not try to step out of the box this however is not a bad thing. The media they follow are very normal aswell there is nothing in that list that is a major shock to anyone. Townies are also not majorly heavy Internet, magsine's, cinema or radio users however it has been found that they do watch alot of tv and do not pay much attention to the Newspaper.

Chad Michael Murray: The American one tree hill actor is known to be a good example of a townie because of his normal sense of fashion and his considerably calm life style with this I mean hes not doing anything that could ruin his reputation.
Gavin Henson: Welsh Rugby Union player and Charlotte Church's boyfriend is another great example of a townie. His subtle tan and spiked up hair proves straight away that hes a good representatuion of a townie.

11. Key Shots of Another Film Opening

Shot 1: Shot one is a close up of the main character of the movie little miss sunshine called Olive this introduces us to her for the fist time and because its a close up of her eys it shows us her emotion straight away hoever shes a very good actor and its hard to read from her eyes what she is actually thinking.

Shot 2: This is a mid shot but the person your suppost to concentrate on is on the side of the image also this shot is also tilted upwards wich makes Olive in this case look more powerful.

Shot 3: Is a close up shot of the facial expression wich in this case is a suprised expression of someone on the tv.

Shot 4: This is a close up shot of the father in little miss sunshine apart from it being a close up shot its also an upwards tilted shot, this makes him look like a powerful leader.

Shot 5: This is another close up of the brother of Olive. This shot introduces a new character of the movie. His facial expression seems bored and he seems to maintain this facial expression throughout the movie.

Shot 6: This is another close up shot of the grandfather in little Miss sunshine doing drugs. This first shots of the grandfather shows us that the he is a very unreliable man who is a bit odd and far from normal.

Shot 7: This is a close up shot of the side of the mothers face while she is driving and on the phone at the same time this makes her look like a busy mother whos always doing many things at the same time.

Shot 8: This is an establishing shot of what seems to be a hospital and were introduced for the first time to a man in a weelchair but we dont quite get to see whats wrong with him as we only see a side view.

Shot 9: This is when we finally get to see a close up image of the man who was in the shot before's face. His facial expresion seems concentrated and the shot is made so that we still get to see the surrrounding hes in wich seems to be a hospital.

10.Break down Film Titles
This is a timeline I made while watchign the beginning of 21 Jump street alot happens at once so it was hard to note down everything that happens. But it is an extremly effective and humerous beginning!
